Embrace The Storm

“Embrace the Storm”

A hit story that can change your perception about how you view challenges you face in life. Life’s journey isn’t about avoiding storms; it’s about dancing in the rain. In life, the things we go through either makes or mar us! Recently, going through the harshest puddle of life, drove me down on my knees and in one of those encounters God gave me this amazing Bible verse. Certainly! Psalm 84:7, is such a beautiful verse that resonates with hope, strength, spiritual pilgrimage and tenacity: *”They go from strength to strength; the God of gods will be seen in Zion.”* (Psalm 84:7) In this poetic and profound verse, we encounter several layers of meaning:

Pilgrimage and Anticipation

– **Psalm 84** is classified as a **pilgrimage psalm**—a song of praise sung by those journeying to Jerusalem for worship. – Imagine the weary travelers, their hearts set on reaching the holy city, anticipating encounters with God.

From Strength to Strength

– The pilgrims don’t merely tread a physical path; they ascend spiritually. – With each step, they gain **divine virtue**, growing stronger in faith and resilience. – Their journey becomes a progression of grace, from one degree of strength to another.

The Oasis in the Wilderness

– Even in the harsh wilderness, there’s hope. – The **Valley of Baca**, a dry and challenging place, transforms into an oasis for these pilgrims. – Their faith sustains them, turning adversity into springs of refreshment.

The Sanctuary and God’s Presence

– The ultimate destination is **Zion**, where the **Temple of God** stands. – Here, the faithful find renewal and joy. – They glimpse the **God of gods**, the Divine One, in the sacred city.

Application

In Summary: The God of gods Awaits! And there, on Zion’s crest, the veil grows thin, His presence, a symphony of sun-kissed rays, We stand before Him, humbled, lost in praise. From strength to strength, our souls ascend, The journey’s purpose clear, our hearts unbend. Not merely footsteps etched on earthly sod, But a celestial dance—a pilgrimage toward God attained! May our steps echo the ancient refrain, and may our hearts find strength in the pilgrimage of faith. 🙏🏼🌟 Source: Conversation with Bing, 03/03/2024 (1) Commentary on Psalm 84 – Working Preacher from Luther Seminary.
